Become a Time for Trussell volunteer

Can you help us build awareness and be a voice for change?

You can make a difference by supporting Trussell, our community of food banks and local people. Everything you do will support us in our aim to end the need for food banks in the UK.

What is a Time for Trussell volunteer?

A Time for Trussell volunteer completes tasks at home and in their community. We’ll email the tasks to you, which may take anything from a few minutes to a few hours, and it’s your choice as to how much you want to get involved.

What will you be doing?

Opportunities to support our work will depend on the time you can spare and could include:

  • sharing one of our news stories on social media, liking a message from a local food bank, or responding to our calls to action
  • taking part in one of our campaign actions and encouraging your network to do the same
  • following our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts for inspiration and to help you connect with other Trussell supporters
  • supporting food banks in your local area by donating food or organising food drives, and helping with other opportunities in your community as and when they become available

How will you make a difference?

You’ll make a difference by:

  • raising awareness of our work
  • helping people understand the drivers that cause poverty
  • challenging misconceptions
  • supporting our community of food banks and everyone who needs them
  • encouraging others to support our work
  • building a consensus to ensure that everyone can afford life’s essentials
