The data that we gather from the frontline work of food banks (both the numbers of people receiving emergency food parcels and the reasons for visiting a food bank) helps us campaign for change to ensure everyone can afford their own food.

End of year stats

More than 3.1 million emergency food parcels were distributed by Trussell’s community of food banks in the past 12 months – the most parcels ever distributed in a year.

Mid-year stats

More than 1.4 million emergency food parcels were distributed to people experiencing hardship between 1 April and 30 September 2024. This is 69% higher than the same period five years ago.
