New Chair of Trustees appointed

Natalie Campbell has been appointed as the Trussell Trust’s new Chair of Trustees.

Natalie is taking over from Stephen Hicks CBE, who has come to the end of his term as Chair since being appointed in 2017.

Natalie brings a wealth of experience from her career as a social entrepreneur and experienced non-exec director. Her unique combination of skills developed through a portfolio career in the public, private and social sectors will help guide us forward as we work to end the need for food banks in the UK.

I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chair in this pivotal time for the organisation. The Trussell Trust works tirelessly to make sure that people who can’t afford the essentials have access to emergency food, while also pushing for policies to end the need for food banks in the UK. I’m deeply motivated by compassion and justice, and I am determined to use my skills and voice to support the Trussell Trust in turning their vision to end the need for food banks into reality.

Natalie is currently CEO of Belu Water, an ethical drinks business which gives away 100% of its net profit annually to WaterAid. She is also Chancellor of the University of Westminster. Prior to these roles, she has held a range of positions at The Royal Foundation, Civil Service Commission, and as Chair of the Nominet Trust and of Grant Thornton’s Vibrant Economy Commission.

I am delighted to welcome Natalie to the board and look forward to working with her closely. Natalie is deeply motivated by her values, and she brings the compassion, skillset, and drive that will help us achieve our goal of ending the need for food banks in the UK. Natalie’s experience aligns with the vision of the Trussell Trust and will help ensure we are in the best position to reach our goals. We are also extremely grateful to Stephen Hicks for his dedication and commitment over the last seven years. He has governed the Trussell Trust through a time of unbelievable change, always prioritising the needs of our food banks and the people they serve. Stephen will continue to champion our cause through his Trustee role at Greenwich Foodbank.
